Spilly’s acting career started in junior high school and blossomed over 3 years of theatre in high school which culminated with his starring as The Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. Spilly’s true passion was backstage where he won numerous awards for stage and lighting design work, sometimes while performing in the show as well.

Shortly after graduating, Spilly started working as a lighting designer for many top local bands. It didn’t take long before he was picked up by a major production company and he was working at HP Pavilion, Shoreline and Great America’s Redwood Theatre. Just about anyplace there was a show you’d find Spilly

Mel Torme to Johnny Rotten, Ice Cube to Billy Ray, Spilly’s worked with them all.

In the late 80’s, Spilly started the band called “Sludge” aptly named for the way they decomposed rock. This madness went on through the early 90’s and Sludge did well overseas, but they were not understood here. Spilly is now looking forward to the much encouraged re-release of his first single with the hits “Song for Sid (Slam Me)” and “Afterbirth” this fall.

Catch Spilly in his first movie in which he is playing two roles “The Lost Sister” and “Spewy the Clown” all in the new cult classic “Summertime Memories”. See it at a film festival near you and get Sludge this fall on I Tunes and Reverb Nation.
